At Flamingo Plumbing, we lead with compassion, understanding and we believe it is our responsibility to help those who can’t help themselves when it’s necessary. Earlier this year, we had the opportunity to help a member of the community and thought this would be a great time to share some encouragement and gratitude to our readers for their support during this time. Our new construction manager, Tim Moore received a dispatch call about a broken water heater in need of replacement. Tim had no idea such an ordinary service call would have such a lasting effect on him.

The job took him to the older side of West Palm Beach where he met Ms. Angie San. Upon arrival, Tim was greeted with a flooded utility room and got to work while offering advice on what they can do to remedy the situation until the water heater could be replaced. The valve and electricity were turned off for the water heater and the tank was drained. Once his job was complete, Tim gave the estimate for a replacement to which Ms. Angie showed her concern about not being able to get it fixed right away since she was also dealing with a broken AC. Even though she tried to stay positive while making jokes about taking cold showers until she could afford to replace the water heater, Tim promised to do all that he could to help.

The next day, Tim reached out to Paul Shaughnessy, the president of Flamingo Plumbing and told him all about Ms. Angie. In fact, a few days before, he went to a supply house in Riviera Beach and saw a water heater that was on sale so he suggested that the company would be able to get it for the replacement needed for Ms. Angie. This transformed a $1100 job to a $200 job. After receiving the green light from Paul, Tim reached out to Ms. Angie to share the good news!

We were able to donate the labor costs and installed the unit. We can’t express how much of a genuinely sweet person Ms. Angie is. She wrote us a ‘thank you’ card, stating: “I knew there were still good people in this world, I love you, Flamingo”.

We wouldn’t be here if it wasn't for the support of our community and this is why it’s more important to us now to be here for the members of our community that need help during this difficult time. If you can help someone, we encourage you to do so.  Remember, we’re all in this together! Be safe and stay healthy everyone!
